Bill Peters New Book “Mail Run to Mississippi” Describes a Flight Across America in an Open Cockpit Airplane – a WWII Fairchild PT-23
The purpose of this flight was to re-unite veterans of the 69th AAFFTD with an airplane they supported and used to train pilots during WWII. The 69th AAFFTD was located at Fletcher Field Mississippi and its many operations are shown throughout the back pages of the book starting with reveille, mess hall, flight line, the instructors, the cadet classes and on to graduation.
